I just scrolled through my personal Instagram account, looking for what I’d gifted my husband, or perhaps he had gifted me, over the last 4 years… Turns out my husband wins the award when it comes to Anniversary Gifting.
With my 5th Anniversary coming up, I feel like the pressure is on – in some ways, for both of us…
Do you know the traditional gift for the first five years of Marriage?
1st Anniversary: Paper
2nd Anniversary: Cotton
3rd Anniversary: Leather
4th Anniversary: Fruit/Flowers
5th Anniversary: Wood
That last one, scares me a little bit… he may tell me that he just bought me a house. If you know us, the odds would be in my betting favor!
All that said, I look back on anniversaries and smile; they really make me happy. I know each one has been a special day, with anticipation of our little ritual by evening: going out to dinner at SO!
As for anniversary gifts, do you gift that day, or celebrate the same with sweet traditions? Is an anniversary something exciting or does it really stress you out?
In the store I see both. However, that first gift is really the one people struggle with… anytime I can offer up a few suggestions don’t hesitate to contact me.
